Frequently asked questions
Answers for transport companies and freight forwarders: trip planning with 4transports, vehicle and driver management, the CMR document register, maintenance, revenue reports, pricing and trip invoicing through the 4b2b ecosystem.
Trips and planning
How long does it take to start with 4transports?
A small transport company can start the same day: create your account, add vehicles, drivers and customers, then create your first trips. You add existing data gradually from the dashboard.
What does a trip contain in 4transports?
Each trip has a code, customer, origin, destination, cargo type, weight, price and currency, distance in kilometres, planned date and delivery date. You assign the driver and the vehicle, and the status moves from planned to in transit, delivered and invoiced.
Does 4transports optimize routes automatically or show trucks on a map?
No. 4transports has no GPS, no live map and no automatic route optimization. The dispatcher plans the trip (origin, destination, date, driver, vehicle) and the distance is entered manually. If you use a separate GPS system, you keep using it alongside.
Can I manage several vehicles and drivers?
Yes. Add as many vehicles and drivers as your plan allows, each with its own status and deadlines, and assign them to trips. It fits a small carrier as well as a freight forwarder.
Fleet, CMR documents and compliance
What is on a vehicle record?
Registration number, type, capacity in kg, status (available, on a trip, in service), inspection and insurance expiry dates and notes. Maintenance work, with costs and due dates, is tracked separately per vehicle.
What data do I keep on drivers?
Name, phone, licence category, licence and professional certificate expiry dates and status, so you can see at a glance who can be assigned to a trip.
Can I keep a record of CMR documents?
Yes. You record the CMR consignment notes linked to each trip in a register. 4transports does not issue signed electronic e-CMRs and does not send documents to government systems.
Does 4transports read the tachograph or check driving times?
No. The platform does not read tachograph data. You respect the driving and rest times of Reg. (EC) 561/2006 and AETR when planning, using your own tachograph download tools.
Does the data remain the property of the transport company?
Yes. Fleet, trip and customer data belong to your company, and we act as data processor with the security measures required by GDPR.
Invoicing, reports and pricing
Can I invoice trips?
Yes, through the 4b2b ecosystem: trips are invoiced through 4invoices. Once the invoice is issued, the trip moves to the “invoiced” status.
Which reports does the platform give me?
The report shows this month's revenue against last month, the on-time delivery rate and the number of trips, vehicles and drivers, calculated from the data you enter.
How much does 4transports cost?
The price depends on the plan. See the full grid on the pricing page; every plan includes trip planning, fleet and driver records, the CMR register and reports, with no fee per trip.
Onboarding, support and subscriptions
How do I get started with 4transports?
Create an account, add vehicles, drivers and customers, then plan your first trips. More about the platform on /about-us.
Can I run the platform myself, without technical skills?
Yes. Everything is managed from a simple dashboard: add vehicles, drivers, customers and trips without code, and changes apply immediately.
Do you offer support after launch?
Yes. Plans include updates, backups and support through the in-dashboard channel. Reach us any time at /contact.
Is there a partner programme?
Yes. Partners who recommend 4transports to transport companies and freight forwarders can join the partner programme, with recurring commissions. Details at /partners.
